about

A concert of improvised soundscapes at St. John's Church, Glastonbury.
October 8th 2022.

Recorded live as two complete sets.

The music is inspired by the evocative aura of the spiritual centre of England and the eponymous encomium to Avalon written in the 1930s by Dion Fortune.

Postscript 24th April 2024: I discovered from a German review of my album "Whirl and Magnet" that the date of the concert, 8th October 2022, was the 150th birthday of John Cowper Powys, the genius author of "A Glastonbury Romance", a novel which I have re-read many times over the last 25 years...
